OUR TEAM: Currently, we are a close-knit crew of three partners, four staff members and three associates. We thrive on collaboration, with partners leading project-based work and staff managing ongoing support. Coalition support is conducted by staff with support from partners.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Social Impact Strategist I is an entry-level, part-time role (20 hours/week). You’ll support our strategists and partners in working with community leaders to achieve their goals. Your tasks will include scheduling and supporting meetings; crafting newsletters and social media posts; and helping with membership drives and event management. This position may work with multiple partners and coalition strategists and will report to a lead strategist or WNT Partner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Coalition Support

  • Provide administrative support to assigned client/s including sending emails, scheduling meetings, sending out calendar notices and meeting reminders, setting up and providing technical support for both in person and virtual meetings, taking meeting notes, and tracking follow-up items.
  • Assist with maintaining distribution lists and contact lists for assigned client/s.

Membership Management

  • With direction and support from a lead strategist and/or WNT partner, assist with notification and reminders about membership drive, data entry into membership databases, and member onboarding and offboarding.

Event Management

  • Assist with coalition client events including scheduling, registration, event preparation and logistics, coordinating presenters, preparing materials, and follow up tasks.

Communications

  • Maintain email lists, compile and send coalition newsletters, and post social media content.

Grant Program Management

  • Support with coordination of coalition grant opportunities including RFP processes, application collection and review, award distribution management, and grant reporting management.

Coalition Programming

  • Support and staff the programming of assigned coalitions.

JOB CRITERIA:

Required Skills

  • One year experience working in project coordination, administrative assistance/support, event planning, or similar work
  • Experience working in a team (through school, volunteering, or employment) as well as independently to meet goals and deadlines (introverts and extroverts can both thrive in this environment)
  • Organization and attention to detail (but no need for perfection!)
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities (things move pretty fast around here; no one is bored!)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Mailchimp or similar email platform
  • Experience with Zoom or other virtual meeting software
  • Experience with WordPress or other website editing tools
  • Experience with data entry

  • Interest in nonprofit and social sector issues and work such as transportation, human services, housing, reentry, education, disability and aging services
  • Eager to contribute to and advance WNT’s internal DEI efforts

OTHER JOB DETAILS:

  • Hours: Part-time, 20 hours/week, Monday through Friday, generally between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT. Schedule to be determined.
  • Location: Flexible work options, including remote work, with some required in person meetings and events. Centrally located office in Austin with easy access to public transportation and within walking distance to Central Market, several restaurants, and other amenities. We are currently supporting our clients both virtually and in person.
  • Location Note: While we prefer to consider candidates living in Austin, we will also consider those living in the surrounding areas who will be able to provide occasional in-person support for meetings and events.

Salary Range (part-time at 20 hours/week): $22,500 – $23,500 (depending on experience)

Expected Start Date: September/October 2024
