Carol Johnson, Associate
Carol Johnson is passionate about equipping managers and teams of people to work most effectively and efficiently together. She strongly advocates an approach that enables people to enhance their strengths, rather than focusing on “fixing” their weaknesses. Only through utilizing their strengths, and managing around their weaknesses, will leaders and their teams be able to excel in their work together.
Carol has more than 30 years experience in the financial and the human services arena. Most recently, Carol led The Care Communities (TCC) for nine years. This non-profit was a pioneer in the utilization of volunteer teams to provide client services. During this time she helped to orchestrate a successful merger between TCC and another local non-profit. Before that she worked in hospice, consulting, financial management, an entrepreneurial venture and nursing. She is intimately aware of the needs of and demands placed on managers and work teams in this quickly changing environment.
As a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, CPA, Presbyterian pastor and RN, her breadth of experience allows her to work seamlessly with all different kinds of managers, businesses and organizations. The combination of her focus on managing strengths along with her business experience allow her to help with leadership development, executive coaching, strategic planning, Board formation, teamwork building and organizational mergers. She and her husband, Kim Johnson, are partners in Connected Team Consulting.
Carol has an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chicago, an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and a BSN from SUNY Plattsburgh. She has two sons and enjoys the Austin music scene, as well as Barton Springs and Austin’s outdoor offerings.
